Welcome to the
Rho Mu Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa
Phi Theta Kappa is a prestigious
honors society recognizing excellence at two-year colleges.
Membership is based primarily upon academic achievement. The
criteria for joining the Rho Mu chapter exceeds the national criteria as
we require more hours and a slightly higher GPA for consideration.
Membership criteria can be found on our PTK
Membership page.
The purpose of Phi Theta Kappa is to recognize and encourage
scholarship among two-year college students. To achieve this purpose,
Phi Theta Kappa provides opportunities for the development of leadership
and service, for an intellectual climate for exchange of ideas and
ideals, for lively fellowship for scholars, and for stimulation of
interest in continuing academic excellence.

RAISES MONEY FOR THE AMERICAN
RED CROSS HAITI RELIEF EFFORT
On January 30, 2010, a wintery cold rainy Saturday, the
neighbor Oakwood Wal-Mart across the street from Gainesville State
College became a place of hope and inspiration as college students and
club advisers from the Gainesville Rho Mu Chapter of the International
Honor Society, Phi Theta Kappa, raised in
donations to be sent to the American Red Cross for the Haitian Relief
Fund.
