Hemlock Fest 2008

Help save our native Hemlocks and have a great time in the process! Hemlock trees help stabilize stream banks in the headwaters of the Chattahoochee and provide shade necessary for keeping trout waters cool. But their existence is threatened by the infestation of a sap-sucking aphid, the Hemlock Woolly Adelgid. Hemlock Fest is a benefit to raise awareness and funds to help save these trees which are an important part of our mountain ecosystems.

Hemlock Fest 2008 will be held at the beautiful Starbridge retreat just outside historic Dahlonega (about one hour north of Atlanta) on November 7th, 8th, and 9th.  Come enjoy great music and entertainment, arts, crafts, and lots of hands-on family fun and activities.  Overnight camping will be available. Experts on the Hemlock issue will also be speaking at the event.  All donations and ticket purchases are tax deductible. For more information visit www.lumpkincoalition.org.
