"The mission of the Foreign Languages Department of Gainesville State College is to prepare students for the multi-cultural, multi-lingual world in which they will live and work.  The Department fulfills its mission by monitoring the effectiveness of methodologies, seeking methods confirmed as effective by current pedagogical research, and giving attention at all levels of language instruction to the Five C's:  comprehensibility, control, comprehension, communication strategies and cultural awareness."
