Description of responsibilities and activities for volunteers:
The Athens-Clarke Heritage Foundation is a private, nonprofit membership organization. Our primary purpose is to educate and advocate for the preservation of historic resources in Athens-Clarke County. Our programs are varied and include Hands On Athens, a low-income neighborhood housing rehabilitation project, to Talking Walls, a weeklong teacher training project.
We have a variety of volunteer opportunities including serving on a committee, helping out at a special event such as our Tour of Homes or Antique Sale and Showcase, delivering newsletters or other materials to various places around town, helping with mailings or helping out in the office, bringing food to a special event, taking pictures at special events, etc.
